rajanMaya has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Rajan Anandan, Vice-President, Google, Southeast Asia and India. The company had also raised seed funding of Rs. 5 crores from Prime Venture Partners earlier this year. Maya enables women to keep track of their menstrual and physiological health via a mobile application. Maya is building a personal health assistant that uses data, analytics and machine learning to provide women actionable insights around their health. To date, Maya has processed more than 100 million data points to build its predictive models. The funds will be used to enhance the user experience, product development and to expand the user base of Maya in India.

Rajan is an active angel investor in early stage technology companies and has invested in Internet, mobile and software startups in India. Rajan brings a deep understanding of technology, a track record of investing in many sectors across technology, first hand experience working closely with founding teams and leading and growing several large technology businesses in US, India and Sri Lanka

Maya has also appointed NetApp, Cisco and Juniper Technology veteran Raghu Mallena to the role of Chief Technology Officer and Cofounder. Raghu has more than 20 years of leadership experience building software products in the US and India. He set up Netapp’s first engineering team in India and has lead large engineering organizations spanning multiple geographies (US, India, China and Israel). In his recent roles at Cisco and Juniper, Raghu led teams responsible for the global product delivery of the entire Security Management product suite. Raghu has a Bachelor’s degree from IIT Madras and a Masters from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
